Cusco Tourist Ticket: What It Includes and Which One Fits Your Trip

If you are planning a trip to Cusco, you will probably come across references to the Cusco Tourist Ticket (BTC). This pass, which you must purchase, allows entry to various archaeological sites, museums and cultural venues in the city and its surroundings. This ticket has no purchase limit, and you can also get it included within our packages.

What is the Cusco Tourist Ticket

The Cusco Tourist Ticket is a personal, non-transferable pass that allows temporary entry to certain attractions managed within the COSITUC system.

The BTC only covers entry to the attractions included in each circuit. It does not include transportation, a tour guide, or other additional services.

What types of Tourist Ticket are there

There are two types of ticket depending on the places you wish to visit and the length of your itinerary. Knowing how it works will help you better understand which entries you need during your trip.

The choice will depend on the attractions included in your itinerary and the circuits you plan to visit.

Integral Tourist Ticket

It allows entry to 16 attractions including archaeological sites, museums and a dance show, and it is valid for 10 days.

Partial Tourist Tickets

If your itinerary only covers one specific area or circuit, partial tickets are also available.

Circuit I – Saqsayhuaman

Includes Saqsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay.
Validity: 1 day

This can be suitable for itineraries that include the main archaeological sites located around the city of Cusco.

Circuit II – City and South Valley

Includes various museums and cultural venues in Cusco, as well as Tipon and Pikillaqta.
Validity: 2 consecutive days

This is an alternative for itineraries that combine city attractions with a visit to the South Valley.

Circuit III – Sacred Valley

Includes Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero and Moray.
Validity: 2 consecutive days

This circuit is especially relevant for travelers planning to explore the Sacred Valley.

If your itinerary combines several circuits

For programs that include different areas of Cusco over several days, the Integral Tourist Ticket can be used according to the attractions included in the itinerary.

Do I need to buy the Tourist Ticket myself if I book with Peruviex

What are the rates for the Cusco Tourist Ticket

Tourist Ticket rates vary depending on the type of ticket, nationality and, in the case of the Integral Tourist Ticket, the passenger category.

Rates apply both to foreign travelers and Peruvian citizens.

What passenger categories exist

For the Integral Tourist Ticket, the following categories are considered:

Important for student passengers

Passengers aged 18 to 25 who wish to access the student rate must present their physical, original student ID card.

For minors aged 8 to 17, the child category and the indicated reduced rate apply.

Is Machu Picchu included in the Cusco Tourist Ticket

No.

Machu Picchu is not part of the Cusco Tourist Ticket. Its entry is managed through a separate system and should be considered independently when planning your trip.

Are the Maras Salt Mines included in the BTC

No.

The Maras Salt Mines are not part of the Cusco Tourist Ticket circuits.
